As part of the Saudi International Week for Handicrafts "Binan," organized by the Heritage Authority in Riyadh Front, the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts participated in three workshops aimed at highlighting national identity and preserving Saudi traditional arts to create a collective artistic work.

The workshops include woodcarving to produce a piece inspired by the doors of the main regions famous for traditional wooden doors. This includes the Najdi doors in the central region, which uses Athel wood, the Eastern region which uses Sag wood, the Western region which uses Javanese Sag wood, and the Southern region which primarily uses Arar wood in door craftsmanship.

Additionally, a gypsum carving workshop is offered to create a piece inspired by historical houses in Jeddah and the various ornate gypsum designs, including nabati motifs on a quadrilateral network, plant and geometric elements on a quadrilateral network, geometric patterns on a quadrilateral network, hexagonal networks, and vegetative elements.

Furthermore, a clay carving workshop is held to produce a piece inspired by the mural art of Al Qatt Al Asiri, with various designs such as Areyash, Tadhiq, network, Al-Maharib, and Balsanah.

On another note, students from the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts participated in selling their various products through designated sales booths, including traditional clothing, traditional woodwork, traditional jewelry, and Al Qatt Alsiri art, with the aim of marketing these craft products both locally and internationally.

Participants enjoyed an enriching journey to promote and develop the rich and unique cultural heritage of traditional arts and the associated artistic works. Upon completion, the workshop participants and the producers of these artistic works will be documented to support their efforts.
