Drawing from AlBalad - Beyt Matbouli

Analytical drawing tools such as arch construction, perspective drawing, isometric pattern analysis and advanced biomorphic drawing are applied to study the architectural features and decorative patterns of particular houses in AlBalad. Using drawing and painting skills, students created their own documentation of Beit Matbouli. This type of study deepens a designer's understanding of heritage and allows them to further their own interpretations. Drawing in-situ at the house, each student focusses on a particular elevation culminating in a set of beautiful paintings each reflecting a different feature in the house.

Paintings; watercolor on paper, colored pencil on paper, graphite on paper, gouache on paper.
